The Boat Race

The Boat Race
I went down to London yesterday to join a group of students from my course (and another from my college) watch the 153rd Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race.

We bought tickets to the Friends of Cambridge party, which was held at Winchester House, overlooking the start of the race in Putney. The race was very close, with Oxford leading before Cambridge pulled forward and won by one and a quarter lengths, taking the running tally of wins to 79-73 to Cambridge.

Halo 3 Beta

Halo 3
Bungie have just announced the imminent release of Halo 3 beta for the Xbox 360. The beta test is only available with specially marked copies of Crackdown (a decent looking game in itself), one of which is being dispatched to me by Amazon today.

They’ve also released a vidoc – “Is Quisnam Protero Damno!” (roughly “He whom I trample underfoot and defeat!”) – which demos some new levels and weapons, along with the significantly improved graphics and sound effects.

Given the superb playability of Halo 2, probably the best first-person shooter ever made, three more years of development and the power of the next generation Xbox 360 is bound to produce a stunning game.

The aim of the course is for successful business leaders to share their professional and personal experience of leading organizations and managing their careers. The line up for guest speakers includes:

This is set to be one of the highlights of the year here in Cambridge.
